Meet new WDAMI Board member Kristal Homoki

I am the owner/breeder and trainer of MtnTop Morgans in Brooklyn MI.  I am blessed to be a third-generation Morgan owner/breeder and trainer as well.  My Great Aunt and my mother have been some of my greatest mentors and they have instilled a strong sense in me that the Morgan Horse should be a versatile horse.  Pick your horse for his correct conformation, intelligence, disposition and versatility; then pick your discipline, change your discipline, use the same horse.  Along with that my great Aunt Ethel also taught me that training the whole horse correctly, all parts of the horse and the mind, are most important whether you were training a trail horse or one for Grand Prix dressage.  I still train with this thought in mind every day.

I have ridden and trained many disciplines over the years from western pleasure and western working along with English, hunt, driving and classical dressage.  I have shown in open and breed shows since the early 70s.  So, when the western dressage movement started I was more than thrilled that two of my favorite disciplines were being combined.  And I have been training my western horses in a classical dressage manner all this time.

I also was a founding creating member and club secretary for 4 years with a National Morgan service club within AMHA.   I was co-editor for the club’s newsletter that won many awards within the clubs of AMHA.

I know that clubs take hard work from everyone involved and I am willing to make that time for WDAMI.
